Throughout history, music also functioned as a means of transaction. Wandering minstrels, musicians in the royal courts, composers sponsored by Maecenas and noblemen, the church or the state, utilized their skills and talent to earn their living.

The music industry, which is our primary concern, constitutes an exceptionally small section of the use of music as a means of transaction throughout history.

Music creation and the rise to success (making music and “making it” in music) is generally the result of the collective work of people with different skills and talents.

The driving force of the music industry was, and to a large extent it still is, on one hand the emotions and dreams of creators and on the other hand the sharp perception of talent scouts and producers.

If we ponder over this, none of the aforementioned elements is concrete and if we also add the particularities of the artistic nature (egos, delusions, ambitions) into this equation, you can understand that this is a special kind of industry……
